Roots
Daily philosophy, for people with no time for philosophy.
Acquisition opportunity Revenue verified by
RevenueCat

A design-led daily philosophy app: one 3-minute lesson a day, drawn from 24 thinkers across 2,500 years. Native iOS and Android, a web funnel, a Chrome extension, and a self-running Reddit community, fully localized in 6 languages.

The hard, slow part is done: a polished, multi-platform product with a large hand-written content library. Monetization is deliberately under-exploited, which is the upside for a buyer with an audience.

Live revenue is independently verified by two third parties: RevenueCat and TrustMRR. Organic search delivered 464,000 impressions and 6,540 clicks over the last three months, and the curve is still climbing: daily impressions roughly tripled across that window. Average position is 10.7, so most of that visibility sits at the bottom of page one, where click-through is only 1.4%. Revenue is modest and steady: the product exists and works, but the free tier is generous, so few users are pushed to pay today.

The opportunity

Monetization is under-optimized on purpose. The free tier gives enough value that conversion stays low. A built-in remote-config switch tightens how much is free without any code change, so a buyer can dial paid conversion up against traffic the current owner simply does not have.

You are buying distribution-ready inventory. Rebuilding an equivalent product, native on both platforms with a 200-plus-lesson library translated into six languages, easily represents $50,000-plus and six to twelve months of specialized work. The ideal buyer already has an audience in philosophy, Stoicism, mindfulness or self-improvement, and is missing only the product.

The content is alive. New thinkers and lessons are added on a regular cadence, roughly every three weeks, through an established production process. The catalog is an actively maintained, growing library, not a frozen asset.

One library, four surfaces. The same lesson of the day reaches the apps, the web, a Chrome new-tab extension and a Reddit community from a single content source, with the daily Reddit post published unattended. Adding a channel is a build step, not a new content operation.

The search traffic is already there and under-converted. Nearly half a million impressions a quarter at an average position of 10.7 means the pages rank, but sit just below the fold of page one. Lifting those rankings a few places, and converting the visitors who already arrive, is cheaper than buying an audience from scratch.
